How to Identify Good Registry Cleaners

All computer users on the windows operating system are aware of the error pop up screens, which appear when trying to run certain functions that won’t start. Not to mention snarl speeds that makes the computer run slow and worst still is the much dreaded blue screen that prevents your computer from functioning in any way. This usually goes back to the registry, which may be corrupted and needs cleaning up. There are a number of registry cleaners, which can be downloaded for free online. However it is advised to get a good quality cleaner that will fix the PC’s errors, delete unwanted data and eventually make your PC run faster.

There are certain aspects about registry cleaners that you should know to enable you to choose an appropriate cleaner for your PC. The speed of the cleaner does not necessarily mean that it is the best. This might actually mean that it lacks the capacity to check the registry for errors thoroughly. A good cleaner is neither fast nor too slow, this however does not relate to the effectiveness of the cleaner. The cleaner should be able to scan your computer system and fix the errors it encounters without requiring you to prompt it on where to check for errors.

A good cleaner should also be able to come up with a list of errors and fixed errors to show its effectiveness. Just searching the system and coming up with a list of errors does not help the computer system. This means that the errors still exist within the computer system and will continue affecting the computer’s performance. A good cleaner should be able to identify and fix the errors to clean up the system from malfunctions. Unused data should be deleted by the cleaner and not left within the computer system to clog up space.

You should scan your system a number of times in succession in order to determine the cleaner’s effectiveness. If the cleaner identifies different errors with different instances of scanning, this shows that it is not thorough. If the cleaner is thorough, it should generate fewer errors as scanning continues since it is also fixing errors and deleting unnecessary data as the scanning progresses. A good cleaner should be able to store a back up of deleted data and list of fixed errors. This is because there are instances where the cleaner may delete files that are actually required by the system.

A good cleaner also manages your registry in an orderly manner for easy access. When corrupted the registry may become messed up and a good cleaner should be able to rearrange it in an orderly manner. The cleaner’s ability to distinguish errors from false errors also plays a role in determining how effective it is. If it keeps generating configuration data and other files, which are in use on the deleted list, then it means that the cleaner lacks the ability to identify the genuine errors, which require fixing. Overall, good registry cleaners should not damage your system; their purpose should be to fix your system.
